Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Expansion

Unprecedented growth of the Austin metro area has led to a significant increase in passenger traffic at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

To increase its capacity, Gensler is designing a terminal expansion that will replace three existing gates, add nine new gates and accommodate a projected 15 million travelers annually—a 36% increase over existing capacity. The 70,000-square-foot extension will also provide 19,000 square-feet of concessions, outbound baggage handling, airline offices and additional passenger amenities—including a large outdoor observation deck and pet spaces. Concurrent improvements and upgrades across the terminal will enhance the entirety of the passenger experience.
