Saco develops first automatic Landside/Airside Transfer System
SACO has developped a new system / product SALUTeS.
Many freight forwarders expect that buying the most recent ULD handling technology will suffice to guarantee the capacity in the warehouse or even that it will enlarge capacity. That is why 90% of the total project time will be spend on the ULD system. This is an important part, however it is not the main part of an ULD system. Most time is lost at the Airside/Landside transfer. There are many rules and regulations to pass an ULD from Air- to Landside, these regulations and rules are made by airport and safety services to guarantee safety. De security checks, mainly done by airport personnel, are a real bottleneck especially during rush hour and at night, which causes delay in the airside / landside transfer.
SACO has developed an automated system to speed up this process. The system works with so called airlocks, an airlock is a locked area with automated Rollertracks, the airlock is equipped with doors and fences. In this locked area an ULD will be "trapped", while locked in the airlock, several security checks will be done by means of an automated system. The airlock system speeds up transfer time because security checks are mostly automated. Are you interested in this NEW system?
