Elite Simulation Solutions selected by the University of Ljubljana
The University of Ljubljana has expanded and updated its range of Flight Training Devices (FTDs), opting for the proven and popular ELITE simulators. The Switzerland- based specialists provided the university with upgrades to its existing ELITE PI-135 simulator alongside installing a new PI-1000 Professional Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD).
As the oldest and largest higher education and scientific research institution in Slovenia, the University of Ljubljana has an enviable reputation for delivering exceptional results for students. The University’s Facility of Mechanical Engineering is Slovenia’s only centre for theoretical training of Airline Transport Pilots (ATPL), providing students with a wide range of technical insight and education in accordance with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
The university is no stranger to the powerful ELITE simulators, already utilising the proven PI- 135 BATD. To help maintain its commitment to its students, ELITE provided a new Avionics Panel 4000 to upgrade the simulator, ensuring that it can continue to provide exceptional support to the ever-changing demands of the modern world.
In addition to the upgrade, the University of Ljubljana also purchased a new simulator, ELITE’s powerful PI-1000 Professional AATD. Providing one of the most realistic simulations possible, the device features a single-seat, open cockpit design alongside replica Garmin G1000 instrumentation. These features, combined with high-definition LED monitors, ensure that students are able to get as close as possible to real-world flights.
To ensure the highest standards possible, the experienced ELITE team visited the university to install the PI-1000 simulator and complete the upgrade on their existing PI-135 FTD.
Rene Huddlestone, Director of Marketing & Sales at ELITE said “Our ELITE software was originally developed in cooperation with the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, and since then, we have always had a very strong bond with universities across the globe. We are very pleased to continue our strong relationship with the academic community by supplying products for the University of Ljubljana, which has an outstanding reputation.”
Igor Petrovic from the University of Ljubljana said, “The Elite PI-1000 has been a wonderful addition to the pilot training at the University of Ljubljana. We have used the Elite PI-135 simulator for many years, helping to provide real-world training to our students, and this latest product will allow us to take that even further.
It enables us to better implement the Area 100 KSA learning objectives, as well as Glass cockpit transition training, with a minimal carbon footprint. The Elite team has been a pleasure to work with, supporting us in upgrading our existing system and installing the new simulator, and we look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.”
