Elite Simulation Solutions, “simulator boutique hotel”, is expanding its offer.
The Swiss company ELITE Simulation Solutions, based in Zürich, designs, develops, produces and sells EASA and FAA certified flight simulators since 1987.
With a catalog of nearly twenty models of airplanes and helicopters, ELITE adapts to the needs of flight schools and training centers, as well as manufacturers or airlines. ELITE manages in-house the design, the production but also the development of software for the flight models and the functionalities of its simulators. Thus, after launching its A320 type simulator and a convertible generic S311 a few months ago, ELITE is preparing to offer a simulator to train future Airbus H125 pilots.
The H125 flight simulator will be certified FNPT II (Flight and Navigation Procedures Trainer). It therefore represents a system close to the real aircraft, allowing training in procedures and instrument flight in an immersive environment. It is a replica of the Airbus systems, with autopilot, NAV 1 COMM, DME, etc., encompassed by a 200° HD visual and an instructor station. As with all of its product range, Elite Simulation Solutions guarantees its certification to its customers, a promise that pleases its customers and is a guarantee of the quality of the systems delivered.
The H125 simulator must meet growing market demand, with training needs increasing due to the size and heavy use of the H125 fleet. “We decided to launch it: it is a very widespread and very versatile helicopter. We have not received any particular development request, we have taken the lead in view of the evolution of the market”, explains René Huddlestone, commercial director of Elite Simulation Solutions. It will be available at the beginning of January.
The development of the H125 did not pose any particular problem for Elite, especially since it already offers an H135 simulator: “It is an adaptation of our software, which we have been developing for 35 years. This is work that we do in consultation with pilots who fly on the aircraft. "For pilots by pilots" has always been our benchmark. But we are also capable of carrying out specific developments in a few months for ranges that we do not have in the catalog.”
Elite Simulation Solutions indeed sees itself as the "simulator boutique hotel" and this is also reflected in its proposal to provide FTD2 simulators to its customers. The Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus is thus one of the oldest partners of the company (for twenty years), for which it has produced several dozen FTD 2 certified simulators, intended in particular for military customers. ELITE has produced around ten simulators for Diamond as well, and is in the middle of a project for GFD, an Airbus subsidiary.
But Elite "is capable of performing an FTD of more or less any aircraft. We have a strength which is to develop both software and hardware in-house. We control the production chain. We have this whole base that we have been building on for thirty years that allows us to have this flexibility,” explains René Huddlestone. He adds that the software, the design, the assembly of the machine are done at the company's premises in Zurich.
The latter is also in talks with French airlines and industrialists to support them in their training projects and who could be seduced by its particular operation, its ability to adapt and its ability to listen. "We make quality products, not mass production, it's not our way of working at all: we are very close to our customers and co-build the project with them. »
