Embross signs Marseille contract

Passenger self-service tech specialist Embross Airport Services has signed a long-term contract with Aéroport Marseille Provence

BERGERAC, FRANCE – JULY 3, 2024 – Embross Airport Services (France), a global leader in passenger self-service technology, announced the signing of a long-term contract with Aéroport Marseille Provence - an esteemed gateway to the picturesque South of France, and a significant focus city for Air France. This partnership will see Embross deliver its innovative biometric and airport management solutions, bolstering Aéroport Marseille Provence's expansion plan and enhancing system reliability.

Recognised as the second regional airport according to passenger traffic and the first by cargo handling capacity, Aéroport Marseille Provence will be a major growth engine to supporting the airport’s efforts of accommodating an anticipated 11 million passengers by 2025. By integrating Embross’ passenger processing solutions, the airport will be able to streamline internal processes, thus providing passengers with an enhanced travel experience and a fresh perspective on travel planning. This collaboration signifies a pivotal step towards optimizing efficiency and embracing technological advancements in the aviation industry.

“Embross was able to offer us equipment whose aesthetics matched our new terminal. On the technical side, we have already benefited from their great flexibility and inventiveness in supporting the innovation at the heart of our project” states Denis Corsetti, Chief Operation Officer at Aéroport Marseille Provence.

The rollout of Self-Service technology will enable Aéroport Marseille Provence to shift to common-use passenger experiences where multiple airlines can leverage the same infrastructure, such as self-service kiosks, self-service bag drops and boarding gates. As part of this contract, Embross will be working with IN Groupe to deploy the biometric solution.

The solutions will give passengers more control over their journey, offering a low-touch, efficient check-in, bag drop, and collection process through assisted and self-service mechanisms. Aéroport Marseille Provence will benefit from a reduced infrastructure footprint and increased operational efficiency. The deployment of V1 and V2 kiosks is aimed at improving the airport’s operational efficiency. Embross’ industry leading kiosks can be used for check-in and bag tagging paving the way for a completely touchless, mobile passenger journey.

Jean-Luc Rauline, Chief Operating Officer at Embross Airport Services (France) stated, “Embross is excited to embark on this journey with Aéroport Marseille Provence, further solidifying its standing as a professional and trustworthy provider of passenger processing solutions. With growing demand forcing the airport’s authorities to build new facilities, our team is committed to optimizing efficiency and promoting smooth operations.”
