FibreFENCE in Dubai for Airport Show 2023
Italian composite fencing in over one hundred airports around the world.
From May 9 to 11, 2023, Dubai's World Trade Center opens its doors to airport professionals and decision-makers who will bring the 22nd edition of the Airport Show to life. The Dubai event is in all respects the largest B2B platform focused on sustainability and digitization aimed at innovation.
FIBRE NET GROUP's line of GRP FibreFENCE airport fencing will be featured again this year in Dubai within the Italian Pavilion, in collaboration with ICE, the Italian Trade Agency. GRP (Fibre Reinforced Polymer) fencing has already been installed in over one hundred civilian and military airports worldwide, thanks to the Group's more than two-decades-long experience in developing composite material solutions: the key factor in this global recognition is fencing systems' complete compliance with ICAO standards in terms of safety and design. FibreFENCE is, in fact, the ideal solution for airport fencing and protection because it does not interfere with ILS and Radar devices and, due to the material's inherent frangibility, significantly limits damage in the event of aircraft impact.
The latter aspect, in particular, has a positive impact on overall flight safety, making composite fences an added value within an airport's complex system. Lastly, GRP structures and fences are quick and easy to install, with minimal maintenance costs due to their durability, and are compatible with popular intrusion detection systems.
All-Italian perimeter security at more than a hundred airports around the world
Airport security is becoming a more pressing issue as traffic and passengers increase, increasing the number of sensitive targets that must be safeguarded. Fences are critical for the safety and security of both passengers and operators, as well as for the physical protection and separation of sensitive areas within the airport facility. Fence structures installed in critical areas (near runways, ILS, or other radar instruments) must be radiotransparent, amagnetic, and breakable in the event of an aircraft collision. The use of fiberglass and thermoset resin products, with no steel or magnetic parts, ensures the required levels of radiotransparency in the presence of flight-assistance radar equipment (ILS or other), while the nature of the materials used ensures frangible behavior in the event of an impact. In terms of durability, GRP composite material is maintenance-free. It outlasts all other materials in corrosive environments, weathering, and high temperatures. Choosing FibreFENCE-branded fences, therefore, means perfectly framing and meeting the required safety standards, with the confidence that you have relied on the right partner, the most experienced in this field. FibreFENCE fences have been installed at over a hundred military and civilian airports worldwide.
One of our most prestigious military references is RAF, the Royal Air Force in the United Kingdom, which chose FibreFENCE MESH fencing and the FibreFENCE RAILING organ pipe system for its Fairford and Lossiemouth bases to handle the heavy jet-blast.
FibreFENCE has been recognized as the best solution for fencing and protecting sensitive airport areas surrounding ILS or Radar equipment and devices in the case of large international civil airports and expansion projects due to significant growth rates in cargo and passenger traffic, such as Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok International Airport (HKIA), so much so that it has been included as a mandatory element in the tender specification of the entire project due to its unique manufacturing technology and construction design.
The list of references continues with installations at major airports on the European continent from the Charles de Gaulle in Paris to the wettest territories even at extreme latitudes, where weather conditions, akin to those in North America - Calgary Airport, Canada - are among the harshest and most aggressive. The only material that will work in these situations is FibreFENCE, which is far superior to conventional materials in terms of strength, durability, and corrosion and degradation resistance. Airports located near the Mediterranean, like Aktion Airport in Greece, place a premium on corrosion resistance to aggressive chemical and weathering agents: in this case, composite fence systems offer considerable long-term cost benefits due to the material's resistance to corrosion from windborne salt spray, longevity, and low maintenance requirements.
FIBRE NET GROUP is regarded as a specialized player in the engineering and production of fiber-reinforced systems and materials thanks to its asset of more than 20 years of expertise in the development of composite material solutions and its ongoing commitment to R&D. Issues such as safety and durability are at the heart of every system and product. However, the Italian group's focus is also on environmental impact through energy savings and CO2 emissions reduction during the manufacturing process: lower energy consumption and lower greenhouse gas emissions, longer component life, higher performance, and increased safety.
