Project SportStar EPOS +

The company Evektor and its partners presented a fully electric airplane for sports flying with an individually developed propulsion system.

The propulsion unit with a liquid-cooled motor Rotex Electric REB-90/5, electronic speed controller (ESC) MGM COMPRO HBC 400400-3, special airborne MGM COMPRO BMS and battery pack KOKAM helps to reach the top speed of 260km/h and take-off the weight of 600kg.

Thanks to the reduced number of motor components (by 90%), the propulsion system is almost maintenance-free, very reliable and simple to control and, moreover, it has 75% lower operational costs. Furthermore, the electric motor makes the system environmentally friendly and quiet that allows to use the airplane in urban areas.

Despite the most common combustion engine for such an airplane is Rotax 912, this electric propulsion unit developed by Evektor and built on the components by MGM COMPRO may become standard for this airplane quite soon.
