Unnamed airline commits to 125 Boeing 737 MAX 8 jetliners

Value is more than $14 billion, in addition to other 737 MAX orders announced at 2017 Paris Air Show.

At the Paris Air Show, Boeing officials signed an agreement with an unidentified major airline customer for 125 737 MAX 8 airplanes, valued at more than $14 billion at list prices. The agreement also includes purchase rights for an additional 50 airplanes.

The agreement will be reflected on the Boeing Orders and Deliveries website once finalized.

Also at the 2017 Paris Air Show, AerCap placed an order for 15 Boeing 737 MAX 10s. Under the agreement, AerCap will convert 15 of its current 737 MAX airplanes into MAX 10s.

Aercap currently has 100 737 MAX airplanes on order, and earlier during the show, the leasing company announced an order for an additional 30 787-9 Dreamliners.

Announcements for Boeing MAX jets continued: Ruili Airlines officials announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding for 20 Boeing 737 MAX airplanes.

The airplanes, valued at approximately $2.2 billion at current list prices, will be posted to the Boeing Orders & Deliveries website once all contingencies are cleared.

Launched in May 2014, Ruili Airlines operates a fleet of 14 Boeing 737 airplanes.

Boeing officials finished the Paris Air Show by announcing that Algerian carrier Tassili Airlines ordered three Next-Generation 737-800 airplanes, valued at more than $294 million at list prices. The order was previously attributed to an unidentified customer on Boeing's Orders & Deliveries website.

According to Boeing's 2017 Current Market Outlook released during the show, airlines globally will require more than 41,000 airplanes during the next 20 years, valued at $6.1 trillion. With demand fueled by low-cost carriers and emerging markets, the single-aisle segment is forecast to see the most growth, with nearly three-quarters of new airplanes deliveries (29,530 aircraft).
