CAAC approves GKN's window repairs

GKN Aerospace has announced that it has received certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to perform repair and overhaul work on transparencies (windshields and cabin windows) for Chinese customers.

The approval was granted after an audit of GKN’s 324,000 square feet Garden Grove facility in California. This FAA and EASA certified facility for transparencies includes a specialized repair station for windshields and cabin windows of customers including Airbus, Boeing and Saab.

John Kochel, GKN's director of aftermarket programs, transparency systems stated, “With this endorsement of CAAC, we can offer our Chinese customers cost-effective repair and overhaul solutions for civil aircraft transparencies. The aerospace industry in China is growing rapidly and we welcome the opportunity to expand our customer base.”
