Newly Branded First Wing Opens Phase One of FBO in Indy

Indianapolis-area FBO operator Montgomery Aviation has rebranded to First Wing Jet Center. The company, which is owned and operated by Eagle Creek Aviation Services, is currently upgrading its facility in collaboration with the airport authority, which is covering the cost of the $2.1 million project.

Phase one, consisting of a new 12,000-sq-ft hangar with heated floor, was completed this spring, while the adjoining 6,000-sq-ft terminal is expected to open by the end of the year. The new two-level facility will triple the size of the current terminal and feature a trio of conference rooms, the largest of which will be A/V-equipped, and able to seat approximately 50 people. The kitchen is designed with a pass-through to the hangar, which will allow it to be used for community functions. Another unique feature will be after-hour access to the second-floor pilot lounge/snooze room with shower facility. Other recent improvements include 40,000 sq ft of new ramp adjacent to the hangar, a deicing pad, and the addition of self-serve jet-A and 100LL fueling facilities.

“We are excited about this new facility and the commitment the Frankfort/Clinton County community has shown to the continued improvement and investment in their airport infrastructure,” said Sean White, First Wing vice president and general manager. “The new hangar and terminal will provide Frankfort residents and business travelers with first class-accommodations and increase traffic to and from the airport.” The old terminal will be retained and leased to other businesses, White told AIN.

The company also operates an FBO at Indianapolis Executive Airport, at Eagle Creek Airport, and it is affilated with Florida's Naples Jet Center.
