A safe pair of hands with Beeswift

Two years ago, Beeswift was approached by a leading company who take the wellbeing of their workers very seriously.

Beeswift, Superior Gloves European distribution partner introduced them to Superior Gloves and together they were asked to develop and supply a glove for workers that would set a new benchmark for protection. As a forward-thinking organisation wanting to give their employees the best possible personal protective equipment, they were seeking cutting-edge technology.

The key requirements were impact protection, with great attention to the size and positioning of bumpers; high cut resistance; comfort and flexibility; and liquid repellence. Conventional waterproofing would have made the glove too bulky, so the solution was a double dipped ¾ nitrile coating. Superior grip in both wet and dry conditions is produced using a texturized micropore nitrile overlay on the palm. Between the thumb and the forefinger, a piece of reinforced material was placed to reduce wear and extend the life of the glove.

The last key part to the design was the back of hand protection produced by D3O. The D3O elastomer is placed strategically across the fingers and back of hand, providing maximum comfort and maximum protection from knocks by absorbing and displacing energy. The glove gives up to 50% better impact protection than what is currently on the market. This is the difference between a trip to the hospital with a broken finger and the ability to continue working.

Currently there are two styles of gloves available in the D3O range developed by Superior and supplied by Beeswift. The ¾ nitrile and goat skin leather impact, both tested to current standards and in stock. Also, on the horizon and in testing is a general-purpose handling glove with D3O impact for those not requiring all the ‘bells and whistles’ but still want that amazing impact protection.
