Tapas outlet opens at DFW

Lorena Garcia’s cooking style is now Dallas Fort Worth International Airport travelers can as HMSHost, joint venture partner Frank Howell of F. Howell Management Services Ltd., TAPAS y Cocina at Terminal A.

“It is an honor to bring this restaurant to Dallas Worth International Airport. Lorena Garcia is one of the country’s most prominent Latin chefs and her local and national charisma and innovative approach to small plate dining really shines through on the menu at the new Lorena Garcia TAPAS y Cocina,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Anthony Alessi in today’s announcement. “Lorena and the airport have been great partners in bringing this exciting dining experience to travelers.”

Small plates include tapas olives españoles, yucca fries, black bean and queso fundido, and ropa vieja, char grilled churrasco steak with chimichurri sauce, or the prickly pear baby back ribs slow cooked in the restaurant’s signature barbecue sauce.

“As a global super hub, we are expanding our concessions program to offer a variety of world-class cuisine and healthy options to satisfy any taste,” said Chris Poinsatte Chief Financial Officer at DFW Airport. “We know our DFW Airport customers will enjoy the vivacious flavors that are the hallmark of Chef Garcia’s Latin dishes.”

Local Texas wines from the Becker Vineyards, Duchman Family Winery, Flat Creek Estate, and Messina Hof will also be served. The beer list features the likes of Sol Bebidas, Pacifico, Estrella Damm, and Modelo among others. Any beer can be used as the feature ingredient to make a house-made "michelada." The cocktail list has two sections: ‘los clasicos” and “el nuevo” with inventive drinks like the classic caipirinha made with leboln cachaça, lime, and cane sugar or a tamarindo made with maestro dobel tequila, tamarind nectar, apple cider, and tamarind-brown sugar.

This is the second restaurant HMSHost and Lorena Garcia has partnered to open in an airport; Lorena Garcia fans can also find Lorena Garcia Tapas at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the International F Concourse.
