Condor brings back its older logo to its tail fins, and we have to admit, we love it

Condor has started to bring back its own logo to the tails of its fleet. At the end of last week, the new design was unveiled to the employees, and the weekend saw the first Boeing 767 with the registration D-ABUF making its first flight in the new Condor look to Cancun in Mexico.

In the just a few weeks, the airline has announced that all tails will be successively fitted with the new design.

“After the final separation from Thomas Cook, the Thomas Cook logo and the heart logo must be completely removed for trademark reasons,” says Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor. “After 16 years, the Condor logo will return to the tails of our aircraft, which makes especially every person working for Condor very proud. Condor and our logo is a strong brand that has signified Germany’s most popular airline for 64 years.”

The tail units of the Condor fleet will be revised with decals in the coming weeks as part of their regular maintenance. Nothing will change in the rest of the paintwork. In future, all Airbus A320, A321, Boeing 757 and Boeing 767 aircraft will take-off with the new Condor design on short-, medium- and long-haul routes.

We have to say we love it, and this design is the first time (in a long time) we think the carrier has got the balance right between the warm yellow colour, sophisticated grey and classic bird icon. In fact, the balance is so right, we were hoping that Lufthansa would have taken a similar approach, as it shows a lot more warmth and excitement than their more officious German counterpart.
