Vistara receives new A321Neo with three cabin classes including fully-flat beds in Business Class

Vistara was one of the last airlines we covered pre-lockdown who received a brand new jet.

The carrier’s 787 certainly showed this airline meant business and its latest arrival, a brand new Airbus A321neo shows Vistara is living up to its promises.

The aircraft – which is part of a hefty order of 50 from the Airbus A320 Family signed in 2018 – arrived in Delhi this morning. This addition makes Vistara the first airline in South Asia to offer lie-flat beds on a narrowbody aircraft and one of the few such airlines across the world.

The airline is positioning itself as a true premium carrier for India, and the A321 features just 188 seats across three cabin classes with 12 in Business Class , 24 in Premium Economy and 152 in Economy. Vistara has decided to kit the aircraft out for today’s passenger, with seat-back entertainment with over 700 hours of content, in-seat power/USB Charging Ports in every seat and onboard WiFi and mobile data provisioning.

In Business Class, the carrier has opted for Collins Aerospace Diamond seats which feature a 63″ seat pitch and 16″ touchscreen monitor in a 2 x 2 configuration which isn’t industry leading, but it’s certainly not to be sniffed at either – in fact, Qatar Airways offers the same hard product.

In premium economy, the carrier has opted for the same seats as economy, but with a 33″ seat pitch and slightly deeper recline. Like economy the seats feature a 10″ touchscreen monitor and both USB and charging ports at every seat.

While the airline hasn’t created consistency between the narrow and wide body aircraft, the premium economy cabin does benefit from an exclusive cabin with enhanced service offering.

All in all the airline is creating an exciting, international standard product across all of its aircraft, and we hope to see the carrier flying to Europe soon as this is one airline we can’t wait to try out!
