First Fleet Praetor 600 Delivers to Flexjet

The shared ownership operator plans to use jets in Europe.

The first of Embraer’s Praetor 600 fleet for Flexjet delivered in late November 2020 from its Melbourne, Florida, facility, the company announced on November 30. Flexjet is the fleet launch customer for the new Praetor 600—and it plans to use the platform to support its operations in Europe. The provider of fractional ownership, aircraft leasing, and jet card services has been with Embraer’s business-jet program since 2003, when Flight Options was the first fractional program to use the Legacy executive jet.

Flexjet has a particular eye cast on the Praetor 600′s ability to leap oceans. “We have spent the past three years laying the foundation to become a force in European private aviation, and we are proud to exceed the expectations of this valued market,” said Michael Silvestro, CEO of Flexjet, in the news release. “The Praetor 600, with its unparalleled technology, comfort, and performance, marked by class-leading intercontinental range, rounds out the fleet that will help us to meet every possible need and desire of Flexjet Owners in Europe.”

The 600 joins its Praetor 500 brethren in Flexjet’s fleet—the company took delivery of its first 500 a year ago, in December 2019. The current purchase agreement between Embraer and Flexjet totals $1.4 billion, and includes the 500s and 600s, and the Phenom 300. Flexjet already operates the 300 as well, which it first brought on board in 2012.

Embraer will also deliver its own market report on Wednesday, December 2, with an update to its forecast of new jet and turboprop deliveries.
