New ‘Alpine’ look and feel for Munich Airport’s Adelholzener Bar

The newly remodelled Adelholzener Bar in Terminal 2 at Munich Airport offers visitors an Alpine setting to enjoy their soft drinks, draft beers or Bavarian favourites such as veal sausages and meatloaf!

The airport used the pandemic forced closure of the departures area bar to carry out extensive renovations, and according to the gateway, the first passengers to experience the new look have been overwhelmingly positive about the revamp.

Arguably, the highlight of the makeover is a large room divider with six high tables and an illuminated mountain silhouette designed to convey an Alpine feel.

However, the airport believes that its modern decor with bright colours and seating areas fitted with power outlets as well as USB charging stations will appeal to all tastes.

Adelholzener Alpenquellen GmbH is Bavaria’s largest mineral spring, based in the Chiemgau region of Upper Bavaria.

“The historic Adelholzener brand has been active in Terminal 2 at our airport for almost fifteen years and is a real asset for the airport and its passengers,” says Munich Airport’s chief commercial officer, Jan-Henrik Andersson.

Andersson, who is also the airport’s chief security officer and chairman of the Supervisory Board of Allresto, continues: “The new design perfectly corresponds with our airport’s Bavarian identity – which is why we are all the more pleased about today’s relaunch after the break due to the pandemic.”

In addition to natural Adelholzener mineral water and numerous soft drinks, the bar will also offer regional, fresh draft beers as well as non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks.
