Emirates SkyCargo boosts capacity with new Boeing 777F

Emirates SkyCargo has received delivery of its new Boeing 777 freighter, taking its freighter fleet to 11 cargo planes, the airline announced on May 30, 2022.

The plane's range and payload capabilities will help it to perform time and temperature sensitive cargo flights, the air cargo carrier added.

The aircraft, registered A6-EFT, has already completed its first cargo flight. According to flight history published on Flightradar24.com, the freighter took off from Boeing’s Paine Field (PAE) in Seattle on May 26, 2022 to pick up its first freight load consisting of electronics, consumer goods, and general cargo from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG).

While the new cargo aircraft is busy transporting goods to destinations across the Emirates SkyCargo network, the airline is scheduled to receive delivery of a second 777F in June 2022.

Nabil Sultan, divisional senior vice president, Emirates SkyCargo said: “These investments reflect our commitment to serving our customers with the best possible assets, as well as to enabling the movement of vital goods and trade flows through Dubai.”

According to the company’s website, Emirates SkyCargo’s fleet consists of both Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 cargo aircraft models. However, the airline aims to expand its fleet further by the end of 2024 after completing a program to convert four passenger 777 aircraft into freighters.

The carrier is focused on the air transportation of food, flowers, pharmaceutical products, valuables, technology, cars and industrial items as well as pets, mail, and general cargo. It currently operates scheduled cargo flights across 11 destinations and performs cargo flights across 140 destinations on a charter basis.
