BPU 400: Powerful Battery-Powered Ground Power for Aviation
High starting power, flexible operation and reliable energy – the new BPU 400 is coming soon.
High starting power, flexible operation and reliable energy – the new BPU 400 is coming soon.
RECK SOLAR & ELME Elektromechanik is preparing to launch the BPU 400, a new battery-powered Ground Power Unit (GPU) designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern aviation. Combining high current output with flexible operating modes, the BPU 400 offers a powerful solution for aircraft engine starts, maintenance operations and other applications requiring reliable ground power.
Powerful Performance Where It Matters
The BPU 400 has been developed to deliver high current output in a compact and flexible system. Depending on the selected operating mode, it provides the following performance:
50 A continuous current in mains operation when using the external power supply.
400 A continuous current in battery operation, providing powerful, independent ground power.
450 A continuous current in combined operation, using both the battery and the external power supply.
Peak current of up to 1,200 A from the battery to support demanding engine-starting procedures.
These operating modes allow users to adapt the power supply to their specific application and operational requirements.
Multiple Engine Starts on a Single Charge
Depending on environmental conditions and the specific application, the BPU 400 can support approximately 5–7 engine starts per battery charge.
This makes it a flexible solution for maintenance facilities, aircraft service teams and operators who require reliable starting power without relying exclusively on a fixed power source.
Flexibility for Modern Ground Operations
Battery-powered ground power offers significant advantages wherever mobility and operational flexibility are essential. The BPU 400 is designed to support a range of applications, including aircraft engine starting, maintenance and servicing operations.
By combining battery operation with the option of an external power supply, the system provides flexibility for different working environments and operational requirements.
Coming Soon
With the BPU 400, RECK SOLAR & ELME Elektromechanik is expanding its portfolio of flexible ground power solutions for aviation.
High continuous current output, peak current of up to 1,200 A and the ability to support multiple engine starts per battery charge make the BPU 400 a promising solution for demanding aviation applications.
The BPU 400 is coming soon. Contact RECK SOLAR & ELME Elektromechanik to learn more about the new system and its upcoming availability.
