Slave Pallet System
The SACO Slave Pallet System is a safe and cost effective system for flexible handling of air cargo pallets and containers (ULD’s) in the warehouse or cargo terminal.
By using the purpose designed Pallet Master, slave pallets can be docked with fixed conveyor systems at the standard transfer height of 508 mm / 20 inch.
The slave pallets can be used for building up / breaking down pallets at any suitable place within the warehouse. By using multiple slave pallets, a dedicated conveyor system can be set up in virtually any configuration. When not in use, slave pallets can be stacked by a standard forklift truck to save valuable warehouse floor handling space.
Pallet Master
• Specially purpose designed for the manoeuvring of air cargo ULD’s on slave pallets. Nominal load 8,000 kg (6,800 kg for the ULD and max. 1,200 kg for the slave pallet).
• Low maintenance costs.
• Expected life time before major refurbishment is 10 - 15 years in busy environments.
• Two standard versions are available:
- ”pedestrian” version for walking operator, with tiller arm for steering
- ”ride-on” version for riding operator, with ergonomic operator seat, power steering
• Rugged but straight forward design for ease of maintenance.
• Robust and stable chassis and lift frame with two forks placed wide apart to ensure stabile and horizontal load at all times.
• Hydraulic operated lift system to lift from 180 mm to 500 mm (with slave pallet: roller plane height from 270 mm to 550 mm).
This enables slave pallets to be docked with existing roller conveyors at the standard 508 mm system height
(20 inch dolly height).
• Wheels, Vulkolan type:
- two sets of two supporting wheels in the forks
- one drive wheel (for traction and steering)
- two support castor wheels for the drive unit
• Electronic MOSFET impulse drive control AC-2, with:
- Stepless acceleration
- Automatic reduced speed at low battery capacity
- Creep speed mode for manoeuvring in confined spaces
- Regenerative braking system and automatic electro-mechanical parking brake.
• Indicator for clear display of:
- Battery condition
- Operating hours
- Maintenance intervals
- Error codes.
• Battery endurance / consumption:
Power consumption is highly dependent on type of use, loading and distances covered.

• LD3 pedestrian version of the Pallet Master, for walking operator, fitted with tiller arm for steering.
Nominal load 4,000 kg specially adapted for handling LD3 (AKE) containers and 5ft pallets.

L270 Slave Pallets:
Low profile slave pallets for supporting air cargo pallets and containers (ULD’s) during manoeuvring and building / breaking in combination with the Pallet Master.
Available in various versions;
- with a roller deck for conveying in one direction (NEP or WEP), or
- with a ball deck for conveying in two directions (NEP and WEP)
ULD’s are conveyed manually over the roller or ball surface.
Designed in accordance with AHM 911.
The slave pallets can be used for building up / breaking down pallets at any suitable place within the warehouse. Each slave pallet has a heavy duty hot-dipped galvanized steel frame and is equipped with either rollers or ball transfer units. Manual stops are available to keep the ULD in place.
Slave pallets can be picked up by the Pallet Master from all four sides.
Fork pockets for lifting by fork lift trucks are available on the two long sides.
L270 Slave Pallet Roller Deck 10ft NEP:
Low profile slave pallets with roller deck for conveying in one direction (Narrow Edge Presentation, NEP). Equipped with four tracks of rollers and three walkways over the full length of the pallet. Manual stops are available to keep the ULD in place;
- two stops at the outside for securing 10ft ULD’s (PMC, PAG etc.)
- one additional stop in the middle for securing 5ft ULD’s (AKE etc.)
