The first United Nations Global Supply Chain Forum, co-hosted by UNCTAD and the Government of Barbados, brought together more than 600 industry leaders, policymakers and experts from around the world to discuss how to address the challenges and opportunities in global supply chain management. The main body of the forum includes: the opening ceremony, 3 high-level plenary meetings, more than 30 side events, 1 plenary meeting and 1 breakfast meeting.
At present, the Sino-US trade war combined with the impact of the epidemic and the geopolitical conflict brought about by the Russia-Ukraine war interwoven, making the world supply chain system is facing a profound change. The Global Supply Chain Forum held by the United Nations at a critical moment aims to further strengthen the connectivity of economies and ensure the stability of the world economy and trade.
To better lead the Chinese business community to participate more deeply in global economic governance and promote the connectivity of global industrial and supply chains, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and China Chamber of International Commerce led an entrepreneur delegation consisting of Wuliangye Group, YTO Express Co., LTD., Jiangsu Tianyi Aviation Industry Co., LTD., and Hainan Free Trade Zone German Air Group to attend the Global Supply Chain Forum in Bridgetown, Barbados, from May 19 to 22, 2024. In the new economic situation, various enterprises integrate resources to be the head and the chain master, which has played a promoting role in stabilizing the global supply chain system in their respective fields.
